Draining & Refilling
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Ensure vehicle is level. Clean away all dirt and debris from the transmission fluid drain plug area.
- Using 17 mm Oil Fill/Drain Plug Hex Bit (J-36511), remove the drain plug. See Fig 1 and Fig 2
. Allow the system to drain. Apply sealant to drain plug threads. Install the transmission fluid drain plug. Tighten the transmission fluid drain plug to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Clean away all dirt and debris from the transmission fluid fill plug area. Using hex bit, remove the fill plug. See Figure and Figure
. Fill transmission with appropriate fluid until even with bottom of fill plug hole. See RECOMMENDED FLUIDS and CHECKING FLUID LEVELS
.
- Apply sealant to fill plug threads. Install transmission fluid fill plug and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Lower the vehicle.
