Test 1: CTD System Does Not Disarm With Key Lock

CAUTION:
Always remove Brown connector first and install Brown connector last on BCM.
- Turn ignition on, engine off. With scan tool, observe door key switch parameter in BCM data list. If scan tool displays INACTIVE, go to next step. If scan tool does not display INACTIVE, go to step 10 .
- Turn ignition off. With scan tool, observe door key switch parameter in BCM data list. Insert ignition key into driver door lock cylinder. Turn and hold door lock cylinder to UNLOCK position. If scan tool displays ACTIVE, go to step 5 . If scan tool does not display ACTIVE, go to next step.
- Insert ignition key into passenger door lock cylinder. With scan tool, observe door key switch parameter in BCM data list. Turn and hold door lock cylinder to UNLOCK position. If scan tool displays ACTIVE, go to step 8 . If scan tool does not display ACTIVE, go to next step.
- Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between BCM connector C3, terminal B3 (Light Green wire) and ground. See Fig 1 . With scan tool, observe door key switch parameter in BCM data list. If scan tool displays ACTIVE, repair open or poor connection in door key switch circuit (Light Green wire, Black wire and door key switch). If scan tool does not display ACTIVE, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Insert ignition key into passenger door lock cylinder. With scan tool, observe door key switch parameter in BCM data list. Turn and hold door lock cylinder to UNLOCK position. If scan tool does not display ACTIVE, go to next step. If scan tool displays ACTIVE, check for intermittent problem.
- Disconnect right lock cylinder connector. Using scan tool, observe door key switch parameter. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between Light Green wire at lock cylinder connector and ground. If scan tool displays ACTIVE, go to next step. If scan tool does not display ACTIVE, repair open in Light Green wire between lock cylinder connector and connector C601. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between Light Green wire and Black wire at right lock cylinder connector. Using scan tool, observe door key switch parameter. If scan tool displays ACTIVE, replace lock cylinder switch. If scan tool does not display ACTIVE, repair open or poor connection in Black wire between lock cylinder connector and ground connection G205. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Disconnect left lock cylinder connector. Using scan tool, observe door key switch parameter. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between Light Green wire at lock cylinder connector and ground. If scan tool displays ACTIVE, go to next step. If scan tool does not display ACTIVE, repair open in Light Green wire between lock cylinder connector and connector C601. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between Light Green wire and Black wire at left lock cylinder connector. Using scan tool, observe door key switch parameter. If scan tool displays ACTIVE, replace lock cylinder switch. If scan tool does not display ACTIVE, repair open or poor connection in Black wire between lock cylinder connector and ground connection G202. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Using scan tool, observe door key switch parameter. Disconnect BCM connector C3. If scan tool displays INACTIVE, go to next step. If scan tool does not display INACTIVE, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Reconnect BCM connector C3. Disconnect left lock cylinder connector. Using scan tool, observe door key switch parameter. If scan tool displays INACTIVE, replace left lock cylinder switch. If scan tool does not display INACTIVE, go to next step.
- Disconnect right lock cylinder connector. Using scan tool, observe door key switch parameter. If scan tool displays INACTIVE, replace right door lock cylinder switch. If scan tool does not display INACTIVE, repair short in Light Green wire between BCM connector C3 terminal B3 and either lock cylinder switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
