Test TC-1A - Checking System For DTCS: Notes

NOTE:
Battery must be fully charged before proceeding.
- Try to start engine. If necessary, crank engine for up to 10 seconds. Connect scan tool to data link connector. Record scan tool DTCs. If scan tool screen displays NO RESPONSE, go to TEST NS-6A.
- If scan tool displays an error message, or has a blank screen, go to DTCS/MESSAGES
. If DTCs are not displayed, go to TEST NS-1A for no-start tests or TEST NTC-1A for no DTC tests.NOTE: ENGINE COLD TOO LONG DTC may set erroneously if ambient temperature is extremely cold.
- If DTC ENGINE COLD TOO LONG is displayed, check engine cooling system. Repair as required. If DTC INTERNAL CONTROLLER FAILURE or CONTROLLER FAILURE is displayed, replace Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Perform TEST VER-2. If other DTCs are displayed, see SCAN TOOL DTC MESSAGES table below and perform appropriate test(s).
