Removal & Installation

  1. Ensure ignition is off. Access VCM behind right kickpanel. Disconnect electrical connectors from VCM. Remove VCM from vehicle. Remove access cover on VCM. Remove MEM-CAL (memory calibration) from VCM.
  2. Using 2 fingers, push both retaining clips away from MEM-CAL. At the same time, grasp both ends of MEM-CAL and lift up out of socket. DO NOT remove cover from MEM-CAL.
  3. To install MEM-CAL, ensure small notches in MEM-CAL align with small notches in socket. Gently press down on ends of MEM-CAL. Press clips inward until a click is heard. Transfer broadcast code and production number from failed VCM to replacement VCM label. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
