Occupant Classification System (OCS) Sensor: Removal

- Raise the front passenger seat to its highest point of travel.

NOTE: Follow the unique instructions or graphic for this step in the installation.
Remove the front passenger seat. Refer to: Front Seat .
- Remove the front seat side shield screws.
Vehicles with manual seats

- Release the tab and remove the recline handle cover.
- Remove the clip and the height adjust handle cover.
- Remove the front seat side shield.
- Lift up on the rear of the side shield and pull outward.
- Pull the side shield out to clear the height adjust handle.
- Push the side shield forward.
Vehicles with power seats
- Release the retainers and remove the front seat recline handle cover.
- Remove the front seat side shield.
- Lift up on the rear of the side shield and pull outward.
- Push the side shield forward.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
All vehicles
- Detach the electrical connector retainer(s) and position the wiring harness(es) aside.
- Detach the backrest cover straps and position the backrest cover aside.
- Detach the cushion cover rear J-clips.
- Disconnect the OCS sensor and cushion heated seat mat (if equipped) electrical connector(s).

- On both sides. Detach the cushion cover J-clips.
- Detach the cushion cover J-clip.

NOTE: When equipped with an OCS service kit, the OCS is adhered to the bottom of the front seat cushion foam. This requires the cushion cover, foam and OCS to be positioned aside as an assembly.
Lift the cushion foam. If the cushion foam and OCS are adhered together, then the OCS is a service kit. If nothing is adhered together, then the OCS is OE (original equipment).
- If equipped with an OE OCS. Remove the cushion foam and cover as an assembly.

- Remove the OCS pin-type retainers.
- Lift the OCS bladder off the seat cushion frame.
- Remove the OCSM bracket screw.

NOTE: For correct installation, note the location of the OCS hose and heater mat pigtail (if equipped) as it passes through the seat springs.
Route out the OCS hose, sensor, sensor bracket and heated seat cushion mat wiring pigtail (if equipped) from between the seat cushion support wires and remove the OCS.

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new OCS or seat track.NOTE: Follow the unique instructions or graphic for this step in the installation.
Bend the tab up and slide the OCS sensor off the bracket. Use the General Equipment: Flat Headed Screw Driver

Position the rear portion of the seat cushion cover from the foam.

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new OCS.
Remove the front seat cushion cover.
- Invert the front seat cushion cover.
- Remove the hog rings.
