Pinpoint Test Ac: The Approach Detection Feature Is Inoperative

  1. AC1 CHECK THE APPROACH DETECTION SETTING

    • Ignition ON.

    • Using the message center controls, access the approach detection setting.

    • Using the steering wheel control switch, check the approach detection setting in the message center.

    Is the approach detection setting enabled? 

    Yes  GO to  AC2
    No  ENABLE the approach detection setting.
  2. AC2 CHECK THE PASSIVE ENTRY FEATURE

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Check the passive entry feature of both front doors and the liftgate.

    Does the passive entry feature operate from the front doors and the liftgate? 

    Yes  GO to  AC3
    No  For a front door passive entry concern, GO to Pinpoint Test AA  For a liftgate passive entry concern, GO to Pinpoint Test AB 
  3. AC3 CHECK THE ILLUMINATED ENTRY OPERATION

    • Close all the doors and lock the vehicle.

    • While observing the exterior lamps and the courtesy lamps, unlock the vehicle using a valid programmed passive key.

    Does the illuminated entry feature operate correctly? 

    Yes  GO to Pinpoint Test Y 
    No  REFER to: Interior Lighting .
