Cruise Control - Overview: Overview

The ACC cruise control system is controlled by the PCM, CCM and IPMA.

The ACC cruise control mode is selected from the steering wheel mounted switches which are integrated into the lower LH steering wheel switch.

The gap setting is selected from the lower LH steering wheel switch which is indicated by the up and down arrows. Refer to the Owner Literature for additional information.

ACC with the lane keeping system uses radar and camera sensors to keep the vehicle in the lane by applying continuous assistance steering torque input toward the lane centering on highways. Refer to the Owner Literature for additional information.

The ACC cruise control system maintains a selected vehicle speed between 20 kmh (12 mph) and the maximum limited vehicle speed. When a MyKey® restricted key is in use and max speed limiter is turned on, vehicle speed is limited to 130 kmh (80 mph).

During normal driving, the vehicle speed can vary slightly from the set speed due to road conditions. The vehicle speed can fluctuate when driving up and down a steep hill. If the vehicle speed decreases more than 16 kmh (10 mph) below the set speed, the cruise control disengages.

The Adjustable Speed Limiter (ASL) feature operates exclusive of the cruise control. When the feature is activated, the vehicle does not travel beyond the selected speed under normal driving conditions. If the accelerator pedal is pressed hard, the ASL feature is over-ridden and the driver can accelerate to pass another vehicle. Once the accelerator pedal is released, the vehicle slows down and the ASL speed limit resumes.

The ASL is activated from the LH steering wheel mounted switch (LIM). Speed limit selections are made using the cruise control SET+ and SET- switches.
