Pinpoint Test AF: Abs (Anti-Lock Brake System) Module VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) Mismatch

Refer to: VEHICLE DYNAMIC SYSTEMS for schematic and connector information.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

REFER to: Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control - System Operation and Component Description  .

When the ignition is set to ON, the ABS module and the BCM share VIN information through the GWM over the CAN. If the ABS module has a different VIN than the BCM due to incorrect module configuration, a DTC sets.

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
ABS U3002:51 Vehicle Identification Number: Not Programmed Sets when the VIN message sent by the BCM, through the GWM and over the CAN, contains 'null' or 'Vin_not_programmed' instead of the actual VIN. This indicates the VIN has not yet been programmed.
ABS U3002:62 Vehicle Identification Number: Signal Compare Failure Sets when the VIN message sent by the BCM, through the GWM and over the CAN, does not match the VIN stored in the ABS module.
