Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The ABS module receives BPP switch input from the PCM through the GWM over the HS-CAN. The ABS module compares this information against brake fluid pressure input to determine if the BPP switch input is valid. An incorrectly installed BPP switch can cause a signal plausibility concern. An implausible signal can also be created if a driver is resting one foot on the brake pedal while using the other foot to press the accelerator.
PPT AC ABS MODULE DTC FAULT TRIGGER CONDITIONS
| DTC | Description | Fault Trigger Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| C0040:64 | Brake Pedal Switch "A": Signal Plausibility Failure | Sets in continuous memory when the ABS module detects the HCU pressure signal exceeds 15 bar and the stoplamp switch signal is inactive for longer than 1 second. |
| C0044:28 | Brake Pressure Sensor "A": Signal Bias Level Out of Range/Zero Adjustment | The ABS module calculates a signal offset for the pressure sensor in the HCU. When the ignition is set to ON, the ABS module begins calculates a new offset and compares this one to the offset stored in memory. If the newly calculated offset and the stored offset do not match, this DTC sets in continuous memory. |
