DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition SOBDMC P0E5A:00 DC/DC Converter Temperature Sensor "C" Circuit Low: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets if the transmission inductor temperature sensor circuit is open. SOBDMC P0E5B:00 DC/DC Converter Temperature Sensor "C" Circuit High: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets if the transmission inductor temperature sensor is shorted. Possible Sources
- Transmission inductor
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- CR1 VERIFY THE INVERTER SYSTEM CONTROLLER (ISC) CALIBRATION LEVEL
- Verify the Inverter System Controller (ISC) is at the latest calibration level.
Is the Inverter System Controller (ISC) at the latest calibration level?
Yes GO to CR2 No UPDATE the Inverter System Controller (ISC) to the latest calibration level. - CR2 CHECK FOR INVERTER SYSTEM CONTROLLER (ISC) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Ignition OFF.
- Wait 5 minutes.
- Ignition ON.
- Clear the Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTCs
- Ignition OFF.
- Wait 5 seconds.
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the Inverter System Controller (ISC) self-test.
Is DTC P0E5A or P0E5B present?
Yes GO to CR3 No The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - CR3 CHECK THE INDUCTOR CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect HF 45 Transmission C1111.
- Disconnect Inverter System Controller (ISC) C199B.
- Measure and record:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C1111-15 C199B-18 C1111-5 C199B-17
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes GO to CR4 No With the aid of the wiring diagram, REPAIR the open circuit. CLEAR the Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. - CR4 CHECK THE INDUCTOR CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
Is the resistance above 10K ohms?
Yes GO to CR5 No With the aid of the wiring diagram, REPAIR the short circuit. CLEAR the Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. - CR5 CHECK THE INDUCTOR CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Ignition ON.
Is any voltage present?
Yes With the aid of the wiring diagram, REPAIR the short circuit. CLEAR the Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTCs and REPEAT the self-test. No GO to CR6 - CR6 CHECK THE TRANSMISSION INDUCTOR RESISTANCE
- Ignition OFF.
- Measure and record:

Is the resistance within specification?
Yes GO to CR7 No REMOVE the transmission REFER to: Transmission . DISASSEMBLE the transmission REFER to: Transmission High Voltage Terminals . INSPECT for internal inductor circuit issues, pinched or chaffed wires, pin issues. If wiring issues are found, INSTALL a new transmission REFER to: Transmission . If no wiring issues are found INSTALL a new inductor, REFER to: Transmission High Voltage Terminals . - CR7 CHECK THE LOW VOLTAGE WIRING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONCERN
- Connect Inverter System Controller (ISC) C199B.
- Connect HF45 Transmission C1111.
- Verify the connectors seat and latch correctly.
- Ignition ON.
- Clear the Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTCs
- Carefully wiggle all accessible wiring and connectors associated with the low voltage wiring from the Inverter System Controller (ISC) to the transmission.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the Inverter System Controller (ISC) self-test.
Is DTC P0E5A or P0E5B present?
Yes REPAIR the low voltage harness between the Inverter System Controller (ISC) and transmission. No The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. CLEAR the Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
