Selectable Driving Modes
The rotary switch on the steering wheel allows the driver to choose between 5 driving modes. These driving modes alter the throttle response, shift patterns, suspension feel and stability control intervention thresholds. Rotating the switch causes the SCCM to send messages to the PCM, VDM, TCM, ABS module and IPC. The IPC message center displays the current selected mode. The PCM, VDM, TCM and ABS module respond to the message by modifying their operation according to a programmed set of instructions.
The 5 selectable driving modes are:
- Normal (N) : used for normal driving in dry conditions. Delivers a balanced combination of comfort, control and handling.
- Sport (S) : used for sport driving in dry conditions. Provides a more firm suspension feel and increased throttle and shift responses.
- Wet (W) : used for driving in wet conditions. Wet mode modifies the throttle map for increased traction control. Launch control is not available when the selectable drive mode is set to Wet.
- Track (T) : Optimized settings for track handling performance.
- V-Max (V) : Optimized settings for achieving maximum velocity (top speed).
To activate or deactivate Track or V-Max drive modes, the vehicle must be at a complete stop with the engine running and the transmission in PARK. This is necessary since the vehicle ride height lowers in both of these drive modes. Normal, Sport and Wet can all be activated while the vehicle is in motion.
