Front Seat Track Motor: Removal

WARNING: The following procedure prescribes critical repair steps required for correct restraint system operation during a crash. Follow all notes and steps carefully. Failure to follow step instructions may result in incorrect operation of the restraint system and increases the risk of serious personal injury or death in a crash.
WARNING: Wear protective gloves when handling components or parts that have pointed or sharp edges. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
NOTE: Typical seat shown, others similar.
  1. Position the front seat to the full upward position.

  2. Remove the front seat. Refer to: Front Seat  .
  3. Remove the front seat cushion side shield screws.

  4. Position aside the side shield.

    1. Pull outward on the side shield.
    2. Push the side shield forward.

    1. Disconnect the seat switch electrical connector.
    2. Remove the side shield.

  5. Disconnect the front seat track motor (fore-aft) electrical connector, release the retainers and position the wire harness aside.

  6. Release the retainers and position the wire harness aside.

  7. Remove the bolts and the front seat track motor.
