Launch Control
The launch control feature uses transmission clutch and engine controls to reduce wheel spin or slip during hard acceleration from a standing start. Launch control is not available when the selectable drive mode is set to Wet.
The following conditions must be met to activate launch control:
- The vehicle must be on a level surface.
- The vehicle must be at a complete stop with the brake pedal applied and the transmission in DRIVE.
Once these conditions have been met, launch control can be activated through the message center and steering wheel controls.
Launch control remains enabled until:
- the system is switched off through the message center.
- the ignition status is changed from ON to OFF and back to ON.
- the clutch fluid temperature reaches a predetermined threshold.
