High-Pressure Fuel Pump Drive Unit: Installation

NOTE: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.
  1. Inspect and replace the high-pressure fuel pump drive unit gasket as needed.

  2. Install the high-pressure fuel pump drive unit, then install and tighten the high-pressure fuel pump drive unit studbolts in the following 2 stages.

    Torque:

    Stage 1: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

    Stage 2: 60 °

  3. Inspect the coolant tube O-ring seal and replace as needed. Lube the coolant tube O-ring seal with clean coolant.

  4. NOTE: The coolant tube must be fully seated prior to tighten the bolt.

    Install the coolant tube, the coolant tube nut and the coolant tube bolt.

    Torque:

    Tighten the coolant tube bolt. : 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

    Tighten the coolant tube nut. : 115 lb.in (13 Nm)

  5. Install the high-pressure fuel pump. Refer to: High-Pressure Fuel Pump .
  6. Fill and bleed the cooling system. Refer to: Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
