Fuel Rail: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Release the fuel system pressure. Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Release .
  2. Disconnect the battery. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
    1. Disconnect the spring lock coupling. Refer to: Spring Lock Couplings .

    • Disconnect the wiring harness retainers from the fuel rail and then disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors and remove the fuel rail insulator.

  4. Remove the electrical connector bracket nut and then position the electrical connector out of the way.

    Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

  5. Remove the fuel rail retaining bolts and then remove the fuel rail.

    Torque: 17 lb.ft (23 Nm)

    1. Remove the fuel injectors from the fuel rail.

  7. Remove and discard the fuel injector O-ring seals and the fuel injector clips.
