Trailer Module (TRM): Removal

NOTE: Adjustable brake pedal and bracket shown, fixed brake pedal and bracket similar.

All vehicles 

NOTE: This step is only necessary if the TRM is being replaced.
  1. Using a diagnostic scan tool, begin the PMI process for the TRM following the on-screen instructions.

    Vehicles equipped with adjustable pedals 

  2. Move the pedals to the full forward (away from the driver) position.

    All vehicles 

  3. Pull outward on the steering column opening cover detaching the 7 clips and allow the cover to hinge downward.

  4. Disconnect the electrical connector(s) and the wiring retainer(s).

  5. Remove the 4 bolts and the steering column opening trim panel and reinforcement.

    Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

  6. Remove the TRM.

    1. Disconnect the TRM electrical connectors.
    2. Remove the bolts.

      Torque: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)
