Removal and Installation

  1. If installing a new ABS module, connect the scan tool and upload the module configuration information from the ABS module. For additional information, refer to Programmable Module Installation (PMI) .
  2. Remove the Air Cleaner (ACL). For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
  3. Remove the 4 bolts and position the power steering fluid reservoir and bracket aside.
    NOTE: Do not disconnect the hoses from the power steering reservoir.
    • To install, tighten the bolts to 28 Nm (21 lb-ft).

  4. Remove the 3 bolts and position the degas bottle aside.
    • To install, tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

  5. Disconnect the ABS module electrical connector.
    • Release the lock tab.
    • Pull the connector from the module.

  6. Remove the 4 screws and the ABS module.
    • To install, tighten the screws to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    1. If a new ABS module was installed, download the module configuration information from the scan tool. For additional information, refer to Programmable Module Installation (PMI) .
    2. For vehicles equipped with Roll Stability Control (RSC®), carry out the IVD Initialization sequence. Follow the scan tool directions.
