Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Parameter Reset: Programming

  1. WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this information, refer to HEALTH AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

  2. NOTE: To enter the PATS  security access if no programmed IA keys are available, start a vehicle session using a tear tag or PCM  part number. The PATS  security access can still be granted even with the ignition off.

  3. From the scan tool, enter TOOLBOX. Select Body>Security> PATS  Functions and follow the IDS  on-screen instructions to enter PATS  security access.
  4. NOTE: There are 2 parameter reset procedures in the scan tool. Select from the list below the appropriate parameter reset for the module being replaced.
    • RFA  module - Select parameter reset BCM  and RFA  module. The customer's keys (minimum of 2) must also be programmed to the vehicle. Refer to: KEY PROGRAMMING USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT .
    • PCM  , gasoline vehicle - Select parameter reset BCM  and PCM  .
    • TCM  , BEV  - Select parameter reset BCM  and TCM  .
    • BCM  - Select parameter reset BCM  and RFA  module. The customer's keys (minimum of 2) must also be programmed to the vehicle. Change the ignition to the RUN mode and select parameter reset BCM  and PCM  (gasoline vehicles) or BCM  and TCM  (BEV).
