DTC P249E: Closed Loop REDUCTANT Injection Control At Limit: Flow Too High

DTC P249E: CLOSED LOOP REDUCTANT INJECTION CONTROL AT LIMIT: FLOW TOO HIGH

Description:  The PCM adapts a closed loop correction factor to account for long term drift of the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system. This correction factor is monitored continuously. This DTC sets when the correction factor reaches a positive threshold for 5 minutes.
Possible Causes: 
  • Damaged SCR system components
  • Biased nitrogen oxides bank 1, sensor 2 (NOx12) sensor
Diagnostic Aids:  This DTC is informational only and may be accompanied by other DTCs. Diagnose other DTCs first. If DTC P229F is present along with DTC P249E, diagnose DTC P229F first.
