DTC P02EC: Diesel Intake Airflow Control System: High Air Flow Detected

DTC P02EC: DIESEL INTAKE AIRFLOW CONTROL SYSTEM: HIGH AIR FLOW DETECTED

Description:  This DTC sets when the desired mass airflow versus the actual mass airflow measured from the mass airflow (MAF) sensor is outside a calibrated limit.
Possible Causes: 
  • Aftermarket intake air system
  • Aftermarket exhaust system
  • Intake air system restriction
  • Exhaust system restriction
  • Turbocharger system concern
  • Damaged intake throttle actuator
  • Damaged mass airflow/intake air temperature (MAF/IAT) sensor
Diagnostic Aids:  The presence of this DTC may indicate that the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power. After repair, the vehicle may still display a system warning message. Drive the vehicle until the system warning message has cleared from the instrument cluster message center.
Diagnose all other powertrain related DTCs first.
