Pinpoint Test
- VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
- Ignition ON.
- Verify there is an observable symptom present.
Is an observable symptom present?
- Yes: GO to 2 .
- No: The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
- CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, perform a network test.
Does the HUD module pass the network test?
- Yes: GO to 3 .
- No: REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE T : The Head Up Display (HUD) Module Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool.
- RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs
FROM THE C-CM
AND THE HUD MODULE SELF-TESTS
- Using a scan tool, perform the C-CM and the HUD module self-tests.
Is DTC U3003:16, DTC U3003:17 or U3003:1C recorded?
- Yes: For the C-CM
, REFER to Diagnostic Routine Q: U3003:16 , or REFER to Diagnostic Routine R: U3003:17 .
For the HUD module, REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE F : U3003:1C.
- No: GO to 4 .
- RECHECK THE C-CM DTCs

NOTE: If new modules were installed prior to the DTC being set, the module configuration can be incorrectly set during the PMI or the PMI may not have been carried out.
Using a scan tool, clear the DTCs .
- Repeat the C-CM self-test.
Is DTC U0158:00 still present?
- Yes: INSTALL a new HUD module. REFER to HEAD UP DISPLAY (HUD) MODULE . CLEAR the DTCs . REPEAT the self-test. If DTC U0158:00 is still present, INSTALL a new C-CM . REFER to Cruise Control Module (C-CM) .
- No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
