Pinpoint Test

1. Connect the scan tool.
2. Check that a vehicle session can be established using the scan tool.

Can a vehicle session be established? 

1. Yes: GO to 2  .
2. No: REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE A : The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool.

1. Ignition ON.
2. Using a scan tool, perform the C-CM  self-test.
3. Clear the continuous DTCs  from all modules.
4. Ignition OFF.
5. Wait at least 10 seconds.
6. Ignition ON.
7. Repeat the C-CM  self-test.

Is DTC U0100:00 retrieved again? 

1. Yes: GO to 3  .
2. No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.

1. Using a scan tool, perform the C-CM  self-test.

Are any DTCs recorded? 

1. Yes: REFER to DTC CHART: POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) .
2. No: GO to 4  .

1. Check for recorded C-CM DTCs  from the self-test.

Is DTC U3003:16 or DTC U3003:17 recorded? 

1. Yes: REFER to Diagnostic Routine Q: U3003:16 , or REFER to Diagnostic Routine R: U3003:17 .
2. No: GO to 5  .

1. Ignition ON.
2. Retrieve the continuous memory DTCs  from all modules.

Is DTC U0100:00 set in multiple modules? 

1. Yes: INSTALL a new PCM. REFER to POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) - 2.0L GTDI , or POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) - 3.5L TI-VCT .
2. No: INSTALL a new C-CM  . REFER to Cruise Control Module (C-CM) .
