Transaxle Support Insulator: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Remove the ACL and the outlet pipe. Refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
  3. Remove the battery and battery tray. Refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  4. NOTE: Keep the TCM electrical connector straight when disconnecting it or damage to the connector terminals can occur.

  5. Slide the lock tab up and disconnect the TCM electrical connector.
  6. Disconnect the 3 battery cable pin-type retainers from the TCM bracket.

  7. Remove the TCM bracket nut, and the TCM bracket.

  8. Remove the cowl panel grille. Refer to FRONT END BODY PANELS .
  9. Install the Engine Support Bar and support the engine and transmission.

  10. Remove the transmission support insulator through bolt.

  11. Remove the wiring retainer, the 3 transmission support insulator nuts, the bolt and remove the transmission support insulator bracket.

  12. Remove the 4 transmission support insulator bolts and remove the transmission support insulator.
