  • CHECK the current in-dash computer software level. REFER to FORD WORK SOLUTIONS™ SELF-DIAGNOSTIC MODE .
    • If the in-dash computer is not running the latest software level, ADVISE the customer to upgrade the software.
    • If the in-dash computer is running the latest software level, INSTALL a new in-dash computer. REFER to IN-DASH COMPUTER . TEST the system for normal operation.
  • The in-dash computer screen fails to dim when the headlamps are on
  • Door ajar switches
  • In-dash computer
  • All door ajar inputs must be closed for the in-dash computer dimming function to operate correctly. REFER to INTERIOR LIGHTING article to diagnose the door ajar circuits.
  • The CD player is inoperative/does not operate correctly

  • INSPECT the CD for scratches, fingerprints, a loose paper label, incorrect format, or damage. INSERT a known good CD and TEST the system.
    • If the system operates correctly, the concern was caused by a damaged CD.
    • If the system does not operate correctly, INSTALL a new in-dash computer. REFER to IN-DASH COMPUTER . TEST the system for normal operation.
  • Internet services (text messaging, web browser, etc.) are inoperative
  • Subscription expired

  • The phone/Bluetooth interface is inoperative

    NOTE: Make sure the number lock (Num Lock key) is not the cause of the concern by toggling it on and off while testing. There is no visual indicator on the keyboard for the number lock status.
  • OPEN the web browser and attempt several commands using the mouse and the keyboard.
    • If all of the functions work correctly, there is no concern at this time.
    • If only some of the functions operate correctly, REPLACE the keyboard. TEST the system for normal operation.
  • Navigation does not operate correctly
