Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the steering column opening cover.
  2. Remove the 2 bolts and detach the data link harness retainer.

  3. Remove the 4 bolts and the instrument panel LH knee bolster.
    • To install, tighten bolts to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
  4. Disconnect the steering wheel rotation sensor electrical connector.
  5. Remove the 2 steering wheel rotation sensor bolts.
    • To install, tighten to 1 Nm (9 lb-in).
  6. Remove the steering wheel rotation sensor.
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • For vehicles equipped with Roll Stability Control (RSC®), carry out the IVD Initialization sequence. Follow the scan tool directions.
