Pinpoint Test A: Gearshift Cables Do Not Operate Freely

A1 CHECK GEARSHIFT LEVER
- Disconnect the gearshift cables from the gearshift lever.
- Is the gearshift lever difficult to operate?
- Yes: INSTALL a new gearshift lever. Refer to GEARSHIFT LEVER in this information.
- No: Go to A2 .
A2 CHECK THE GEARSHIFT CABLES .
- Attach the gearshift cables to the gearshift lever.
- Disconnect the gearshift cables from the transaxle.
- Is the gearshift lever difficult to operate?
- Yes: INSTALL a new gearshift cable assembly. Refer to GEARSHIFT CABLES in this information.
- No: There is a problem with the transaxle. Refer to MANUAL TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION .
