Fuel Rail - 3.5L: Installation

    NOTE: Use O-ring seals that are made of special fuel-resistant material. The use of ordinary O-rings may cause the fuel system to leak. Do not reuse the O-ring seals.
    NOTE: The upper and lower fuel injector O-ring seals are similar in appearance, but are not interchangeable.
  1. Install the new O-ring seals onto the fuel injectors and lubricate them with clean engine oil.
  2. Install the 6 fuel injectors and the 6 fuel injector clips into the fuel rail.
  3. Install the fuel rail and fuel injectors as an assembly.
  4. Install the 4 fuel rail bolts.
    • Tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb-in).
  5. Connect the 6 fuel injector electrical connectors.
  6. Connect the fuel jumper tube-to-fuel rail spring lock coupling. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
  7. Attach the fuel tube routing clips to the fuel rail.

  8. Install the upper intake manifold. For additional information, refer to UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD .
  9. Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
