Fuel Rail - 3.5L: Installation
- Install the new O-ring seals onto the fuel injectors and lubricate them with clean engine oil.
- Install the 6 fuel injectors and the 6 fuel injector clips into the fuel rail.
- Install the fuel rail and fuel injectors as an assembly.
- Install the 4 fuel rail bolts.
- Tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb-in).
- Connect the 6 fuel injector electrical connectors.
- Connect the fuel jumper tube-to-fuel rail spring lock coupling. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
- Attach the fuel tube routing clips to the fuel rail.
- Install the upper intake manifold. For additional information, refer to UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD .
- Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
NOTE:
Use O-ring seals that are made of special fuel-resistant material. The use of ordinary O-rings may cause the fuel system to leak. Do not reuse the O-ring seals.
NOTE:
The upper and lower fuel injector O-ring seals are similar in appearance, but are not interchangeable.
