Pinpoint Test H: The Set Speed Fluctuates

  1. H1 CHECK THE SPEED CONTROL ACTUATOR CABLE/THROTTLE BODY LINKAGE 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Remove the speed control actuator cable from the speed control actuator. Visually inspect the core wire and check the speed control actuator cable by pulling on it and noting the throttle movement.
    • Is the speed control actuator cable OK? 
    • Yes  : GO to  H2.
    • No  : INSTALL a new speed control actuator cable or REFER to ACCELERATION CONTROL for repair of the throttle body linkage. TEST the system for normal operation.
  2. H2 CHECK THE SPEEDOMETER OPERATION 
    • Drive the vehicle and observe the speedometer operation.
    • Does the speedometer fluctuate?
