  • No communication with the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module
  • Fuse

  • ABS false activation, ABS too sensitive, ABS activates on normal stop
  • Front anti-lock brake sensor tone rings
  • INSPECT both front wheel speed sensor tone rings for damaged teeth. CHECK the wheel speed sensor gap.
  • Chafed wire insulation or pinched wire
  • INSPECT the wiring harness from the front wheel speed sensor knuckle to the frame and from the rear axle to the frame.
  • Rear wheel speed sensor, excessive variance in air gap between wheel speed sensor and sensor ring
  • INSPECT both rear wheel speed sensor rings for damaged teeth. CHECK the wheel speed sensor air gap (0.16-1.65 mm). CHECK the sensor ring run out (0.28 mm max.). If the air gap or run out are not within specification, INSTALL a new hub assembly. Refer to WHEEL HUBS AND BEARINGS - FULL FLOATING AXLE - DANA .

  • RETRIEVE all DTCs and GO TO the DTC indexes. If no DTCs are present, REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER .
