Pinpoint Test G: The Yellow Abs Warning Indicator Is Never/Always On
Test Step
G1 CHECK THE YELLOW ABS WARNING INDICATOR OPERATION
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Traction Control Module C135.
- Key in ON position.
- Observe the yellow ABS warning indicator.
- Is the yellow ABS warning indicator illuminated?
Result / Action to Take
Yes
Go to G2.
No
Go to G4.
Test Step
G2 CHECK THE YELLOW ABS WARNING INDICATOR
- Key in OFF position.
- Connect a fused (5A) jumper wire between the traction control module C135 pin 44, circuit 31S-CF28 (BK/RD), harness side and ground.
- Key in ON position.
- Is the yellow ABS warning indicator illuminated?
Result / Action to Take
Yes
Go to G3.
No
INSTALL a new HCU. REFER to ANTI-LOCK CONTROL . REPEAT the self-test. TEST the system for normal operation.
Test Step
G3 CHECK CIRCUIT 31S-CF28 (BK/RD) FOR AN OPEN
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Instrument Cluster C220a.
- Measure the resistance between the traction control module C135 pin 44, circuit 31S-CF28 (BK/RD), harness side and the instrument cluster C220a pin 6, circuit 31S -CF28 (BK/RD), harness side.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Result / Action to Take
Yes
REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER .
No
REPAIR the circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. TEST the system for normal operation.
Test Step
G4 CHECK CIRCUIT 31S-CF38 (BK/RD) FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Instrument Cluster C220a.
- Measure the resistance between the traction control module C135 pin 44, circuit 31S-CF28 (BK/RD) harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
Result / Action to Take
Yes
REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER .
No
REPAIR the circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. TEST the system for normal operation.
