Power Door Lock/Unlock Relay

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove power door lock/unlock relay located behind passenger kick panel. See POWER DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK RELAY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Measure resistance between power door lock/unlock relay terminal No. 5, and terminals No. 2, 4, 7 and 9. See Fig 1. All resistances should be 150-185 ohms. If resistances are as specified, go to next step. If resistances are not as specified, replace power door lock/unlock relay. Retest system operation.
  2. Measure resistance between power door lock relay terminal No. 6, and terminals No. 3, 8 and 12. All resistances should be less than 5 ohms. If resistances are as specified, go to next step. If resistances are not as specified, replace power door lock/unlock relay. Retest system operation.
  3. Apply 12 volts to power door lock relay terminal No. 5. Measure voltage between specified power door lock relay terminals and ground, while grounding specified power door lock relay terminals. See DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK RELAY TEST  table. See Fig 1. Voltage in all tests should be more than 10 volts. If voltages are not as specified, replace power door lock/unlock relay. Retest system operation.
