Seat Control Switch: Installation

WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, read and follow all warnings, cautions, notes and instructions in the front seat removal and installation procedure.
  1. Position the seat control switch in the seat side trim panel. Install the two seat control switch screws.

  2. Route the seat control switch wire harness as noted in the removal portion of this section and connect the electrical connector.

  3. Position the side trim to the seat and engage the side trim front retaining clip.

  4. CAUTION: Take care when installing the side trim cover. Excessive force will break the mounting tabs.

  5. Engage the side trim rear retaining clip.
  6. Install the seat side trim lower mounting screw.

  7. Install the seat side trim rear mounting screw.

  8. Install the screws at the lumbar adjust mechanism.

  9. Install the clip onto the recliner handle.

  10. Install the lumbar adjuster knob and the seat backrest recliner handle.
    • Align the locator tab before installing the lumbar adjuster knob or the recliner handle.

  11. Restore the vehicle to operating condition.
    1. Install the front seat. For additional information, refer to FRONT SEAT .
    2. WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, read and follow all warnings, cautions, notes and instructions in the supplemental restraint system (SRS) deactivation/reactivation procedure.
    3. Reactivate the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEACTIVATION AND REACTIVATION. 
    4. WARNING: The restraint system diagnostic tool is for restraint system service only. Remove from the vehicle prior to road use. Failure to remove could result in injury and possible violation of vehicle safety standards.
    5. With all the restraint system diagnostic tools removed, prove out the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS .
    6. Check the active restraints for correct operation. For additional information, refer to SAFETY BELT SYSTEM .
