Test B: Speed Control Does Not Disengage With Brakes Applied

NOTE: Ensure stoplights are operating properly before performing this test.

Turn ignition off. Disconnect Brake Pedal Position (BPP) switch connector C824. Measure resistance between BPP switch connector C824 terminals No. 1 and 2 (component side) without brake pedal applied. See Figure. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, adjust or replace BPP switch. Retest system operation.
Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between BPP switch connector C824 terminal No. 2 (Green/Yellow wire) and ground. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open or short to ground in Green/Yellow wire between BPP switch and central junction box. Retest system operation.
Turn ignition off. Disconnect speed control actuator connector C831. Measure resistance of Green/Yellow wire between BPP switch connector C824 terminal No. 1 and speed control connector C831 terminal No. 9. See Figure Figure and . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace speed control actuator. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Green/Yellow wire between BPP switch and speed control actuator. Retest system operation.
