Using NGS tester, perform Rear Electronic Module (REM) self-diagnostic test. If DTC B2539 is recorded, go to step 9. If DTC C2540 is recorded, go to step 10. If any other DTCs are recorded, see REAR ELECTRONIC MODULE DTC INDEX table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If no DTCs are recorded, go to next step.
- Connect NGS tester to DLC. Turn front auxiliary blower motor switch to REAR position. Turn rear blower motor switch to high speed. Enter REM ACTIVE COMMAND MODE. Select RECIRC LED to command mode door open and closed. Check airflow from panel and floor vents. If airflow varies from floor to panel, go to step 12. If airflow does not vary from floor to panel, go to next step.
- Remove auxiliary air mode door actuator from rear climate control housing. Enter REM ACTIVE COMMAND MODE. Select RECIRC LED to command mode door open and closed. Check airflow from panel and floor vents. If auxiliary mode door operates as commanded, repair binding or sticking mode door. If mode door does not operate as commanded, go to next step.

Connect a second 5-amp fused jumper wire between terminals No. 1 (Tan/Yellow wire) and No. 13 (Tan/Red wire) at REM harness connector C342. If auxiliary air mode door actuator rotates counterclockwise, go to step 12. If auxiliary air mode door actuator does not rotate counterclockwise, remove jumper wires and go to next step.
- Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 10 (Pink/Light Blue wire) at REM harness connector C343. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 (Tan/Yellow wire) at REM harness connector C342. If any voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to step 9. If all voltages are 10 volts or less, go to next step.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 10 (Pink/Light Blue wire) at REM harness connector C343. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Tan/Yellow wire) at REM harness connector C342. If all resistances are greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If any resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, go to step 10.
- Disconnect auxiliary A/C mode door actuator harness connector C312. Measure resistance of Pink/Light Blue wire between terminal No. 7 at auxiliary A/C mode door actuator harness connector C312 and terminal No. 10 at REM harness connector C343. Measure resistance of Tan/Yellow wire between terminal No. 8 at auxiliary A/C mode door actuator harness connector C312 and terminal No. 1 at REM harness connector C342. See Figure and Figure . If all resistances are 5 ohms or less, go to step 11. If any resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Pink/Light Blue wire or Tan/Yellow wire. Retest system.
- Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 10 (Pink/Light Blue wire) at REM harness connector C343. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 (Tan/Yellow wire) at REM harness connector C342. If any voltage is greater than 10 volts, repair short to voltage in Pink/Light Blue wire or Tan/Yellow wire. If all voltages are 10 volts or less, replace auxiliary A/C mode door actuator. Retest system.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 10 (Pink/Light Blue wire) at REM harness connector C343. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Tan/Yellow wire) at REM harness connector C342. If all resistances are greater than 10 k/ohms, replace auxiliary A/C mode door actuator. If any resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Pink/Light Blue wire or Tan/Yellow wire. Retest system.
- Connect auxiliary A/C mode door actuator harness connector C312. Connect fused jumper wire as described in step 4 to actuate panel position. Connect fused jumper wire as described in step 5 to actuate floor position. If actuator operates in both directions, replace REM. Retest system. If actuator does not operate in either direction, replace auxiliary A/C mode door actuator. Retest system.
- Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 17 (White/Light Blue wire) at REM harness connector C342. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to step 16. If voltage is 10 volts or less, go to next step.
- Disconnect REM harness connector C341. Measure resistance between terminal No. 20 (Light Blue wire) at REM harness connector C341 and terminal No. 8 (Black/Orange wire) at REM harness connector C343. If resistance is between 4500 and 6500 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not between 4500 and 6500 ohms, go to step 15.
- Measure resistance between terminal No. 8 (Black/Orange wire) at REM harness connector C343 harness connector and terminal No. 17 (White/Light Blue wire) at REM harness connector C342 while actuating auxiliary A/C mode door actuator from panel to floor as described in steps 4 and 5. If resistance varies between 250 and 6250 ohms, replace REM. Retest system. If resistance does not vary between 250 and 6250 ohms, go to next step.
- Disconnect rear auxiliary A/C mode door actuator harness connector C312. Measure resistance between specified terminals at rear auxiliary A/C mode door actuator harness connector C312 and REM harness connectors C341, C342 and C343. See REAR AUXILIARY A/C MODE DOOR ACTUATOR CIRCUIT IDENTIFICATION table. See Figure, Figure, Figure and Figure . If all resistances are 5 ohms or less, replace rear auxiliary A/C mode door actuator. Retest system. If any resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in appropriate wire(s). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Retest system.
