Test G: Position Sensor System Failure (DTC B2363)

NOTE: Anytime battery or central junction box fuse No. 6 (15-amp) is disconnected, power sliding doors must be initialized before they will operate correctly. If Left Power Sliding Door Module (LPSDM) 12-pin harness connector C355 or Right Power Sliding Door Module (RPSDM) 12-pin harness connector C352 is disconnected, only associated power sliding door must be initialized. If any module, switch or sensor is replaced or if any related wiring is repaired, both power sliding doors must be initialized. See POWER SLIDING DOOR INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE  under PROGRAMMING.
  1. Using New Generation Star (NGS) tester, perform Left Power Sliding Door Module (LPSDM) and Right Power Sliding Door Module (RPSDM) self-tests. If DTC B2363 is retrieved from LPSDM, go to next step. If DTC B2363 is retrieved from RPSDM, go to step  7 .
  2. Access left power sliding door position sensor on left motor assembly, located on front of power left sliding door. If power sliding door position sensor is installed and seated correctly, go to next step. If it is not installed or seated correctly, install correctly. Repeat LPSDM self-test. If DTC B2363 is retrieved, go to next step. If DTC B2363 is not retrieved, test system for normal operation.
  3. Remove and inspect fuse No. 6 (15-amp) from central junction box, located behind left side of instrument panel. Wait 30 seconds and reinstall fuse. Perform power sliding door initializing procedure. See POWER SLIDING DOOR INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE  under PROGRAMMING. If power sliding door does not open and close completely, go to next step. If power sliding door opens and closes completely, repeat LPSDM self-test. If any DTCs are retrieved, perform appropriate test in accordance with DTC retrieved. See LEFT POWER SLIDING DOOR MODULE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE INDEX  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  4. Close power sliding door. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Verify overhead console on/off switch is in ON position. Measure voltage by backprobing between ground and left power sliding door position sensor harness connector terminal No. 3. See Fig 1 . Press left "B" pillar open/close switch. If voltage is approximately 5 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not approximately 5 volts, replace LPSDM. See POWER SLIDING DOOR INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE  under PROGRAMMING.
  5. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Close power sliding door. Measure resistance by backprobing between ground and left power sliding door position sensor harness connector terminal No. 4. See Fig 1 . Press left "B" pillar open/close switch. If resistance is less than 50 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 50 ohms or more, replace LPSDM. See POWER SLIDING DOOR INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE  under PROGRAMMING.
  6. Remove fuse No. 6 (15-amp) from central junction box. Replace left power sliding door position sensor. Replace fuse No. 6. Close power sliding door completely. Perform LPSDM self-test. If DTC B2363 is retrieved, remove new left power sliding door position sensor, install previous left power sliding door position sensor and replace LPSDM. See POWER SLIDING DOOR INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE  under PROGRAMMING. If any other DTC is retrieved, perform appropriate test in accordance with DTC retrieved. See LEFT POWER SLIDING DOOR MODULE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE INDEX  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If no DTCs are retrieved, system is operating correctly.
  7. Access right power sliding door position sensor on right motor assembly. If right power sliding door position sensor is installed and seated correctly, go to next step. If right power sliding door position sensor is not installed or seated correctly, install correctly. Repeat RPSDM self-test. If DTC B2363 is retrieved, go to next step. If DTC B2363 is not retrieved, test system for normal operation.
  8. Remove fuse No. 6 (15-amp) from central junction box, located behind left side of instrument panel. Wait 30 seconds and install fuse. Perform power sliding door initializing procedure. See POWER SLIDING DOOR INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE  under PROGRAMMING. If power sliding door does not open and close completely, go to next step. If power sliding door opens and closes completely, repeat RPSDM self-test. If any DTCs are retrieved, perform appropriate test in accordance with DTC retrieved. See RIGHT POWER SLIDING DOOR MODULE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE INDEX  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  9. Close power sliding door. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Verify overhead console on/off switch is in ON position. Measure voltage by backprobing between ground and right power sliding door position sensor harness connector terminal No. 3. See Fig 1 . Press right "B" pillar open/close switch. If voltage is approximately 5 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not approximately 5 volts, replace RPSDM. See POWER SLIDING DOOR INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE  under PROGRAMMING.
  10. Close power sliding door. Measure resistance by backprobing between ground and right power sliding door position sensor harness connector terminal No. 4. See Fig 1 . Press right "B" pillar open/close switch. If resistance is less than 50 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 50 ohms or more, replace RPSDM. See POWER SLIDING DOOR INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE  under PROGRAMMING.
  11. Remove fuse No. 6 (15-amp) from central junction box. Replace right power sliding door position sensor. Replace fuse No. 6. Close power sliding door completely. Perform RPSDM self-test. If DTC B2363 is retrieved, remove new right power sliding door position sensor, install previous power sliding door position sensor and replace RPSDM. See POWER SLIDING DOOR INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE  under PROGRAMMING. Perform RPSDM self-test. If any other DTC is retrieved, perform appropriate test in accordance with DTC retrieved. See RIGHT POWER SLIDING DOOR MODULE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE INDEX  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If no DTCs are retrieved, system is operating correctly.
