Programmable Module Installation (PMI)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Ford Pickup, 2002 Ford F550 Super Duty, 2002 Ford F450 Super Duty, and 2002 Ford Excursion. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Connect WDS tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). Allow WDS tester to initialize and identify vehicle. Remove old module and replace with new module. WDS tester should automatically configure new module using information gathered during the vehicle identification process. If WDS tester cannot communicate with module you will be prompted to manually configure module or enter as built data. If prompted to manually configure module, see PROGRAMMABLE PARAMETERS . If as built data is requested, vehicle must be taken to a Ford dealership for module configuration.
