Reinitialization Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Ford Windstar. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

If the power sliding door module loses the logic battery supply for any reason, such as battery disconnect or module disconnect, the power sliding door module will lose the power sliding door position stored in memory.

Disconnecting the battery will cause both power sliding door modules to lose power sliding door position.

Disconnecting the power sliding door module connector will only cause the specific module to lose its memory. If only one power sliding door module is affected, the initialization procedure only needs to be carried out for the specific module.

The power sliding door module normal operation will not be restored until the power sliding door position is once again stored into memory. The reinitialization procedure is the learning process the power sliding door module uses to restore the power sliding door position in memory. The power sliding door module monitors the position sensor data received during the initial power open and close operation to learn the positions.
