Test F: Speed Control Does Not Disengage When Clutch Is Applied

NOTE: After each service or repair procedure has been completed, reconnect all components.
  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Clutch Pedal Position (CPP) switch connector C209 or jumper (located on clutch pedal arm). Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between CPP switch terminals No. 3 and 4 (component side). See Fig 1 . Depress clutch pedal. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, replace CPP switch.
  2. Disconnect speed control servo/actuator connector C171 (located at right rear of engine compartment). Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and speed control servo/actuator connector C171 terminal No. 4 (Tan/Light Blue wire). See Figure . If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, replace speed control servo/actuator. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Tan/Light Blue wire between speed control servo/actuator and CPP switch.
