Test H: Delayed Accessory Feature Does Not Turn Off
- Using NGS tester, perform Generic Electronic Module (GEM) self-test. If DTC B1302 was retrieved, go to step 7 . If DTC B1475 was retrieved, go to step 4 . If DTC B1342 was retrieved, replace GEM. See GENERIC ELECTRONIC MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If no DTCs were retrieved, go to next step.
- Using NGS tester, observe GEM PID IGN_GEM while turning ignition switch through all positions. Depress clutch pedal (M/T). If PID values agree with switch positions, go to next step. If PID values do not agree with switch positions, repair appropriate ignition switch circuit. See appropriate POWER DISTRIBUTION article in WIRING DIAGRAMS.
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Observe PID ACCDLY while toggling active command ACC RLY to ON and OFF. If PID value agrees with active command mode, go to next step. If PID does not agree with active command mode, go to step 7 .
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Test accessory delay relay. See MINI ISO RELAY under COMPONENT TESTS. If relay is okay, go to next step. If relay is faulty, replace relay.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect fuse junction panel connector C242a. Disconnect driver-side window switch harness connector C510a. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between driver-side window switch harness connector C510a terminal No. 2 (Light Blue/Black wire) and ground. See Figure . If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, repair short to power in Light Blue/Black wire and retest system operation.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove GEM from fuse junction panel. See GENERIC ELECTRONIC MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between fuse junction panel connector C242a terminal No. 17 and ground. See Figure . If voltage is greater than 10 volts, replace fuse junction panel and retest system operation. If voltage is less than 10 volts, replace GEM and retest system operation.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Test accessory delay relay. See MINI ISO RELAY under COMPONENT TESTS. If relay is okay, go to next step. If relay is faulty, replace relay.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove GEM from fuse junction panel. See GENERIC ELECTRONIC MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect accessory delay relay from fuse junction panel. See Figure . Measure resistance between fuse junction panel connector C240d terminal No. 11 and ground. See Figure . If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, replace GEM and retest system operation. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, replace fuse junction panel and retest system operation.
