Test R: Door Locks Are Inoperative Using Remote Transmitter

  1. Sit in vehicle. Operate locks from door switches. If door locks operate properly, go to next step. If locks do not operate properly, go to TEST N: DOOR LOCKS INOPERATIVE  .
  2. Connect scan tool following manufacturers instructions. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Depress UNLOCK button on remote transmitter. Check DDM PID TIC/DATA for last remote transmitter signal received. If last remote transmitter received indicated UNLOCK, go to next step. If last remote transmitter received did not indicate UNLOCK, program remote transmitter. See REMOTE TRANSMITTER  under PROGRAMMING.
  3. Depress LOCK button on remote transmitter. Check DDM PID TIC/DATA for last remote transmitter signal received. If last remote transmitter received indicated LOCK, go to next step. If last remote transmitter received did not indicate LOCK, program remote transmitter. See REMOTE TRANSMITTER  under PROGRAMMING.
  4. Disconnect negative battery cable for at least 5 minutes. Reconnect negative battery cable. Using suspect transmitter, press LOCK/UNLOCK buttons repeatedly 8-10 times. If door lock functions operate properly, system is okay at this time. If door lock functions do not operate properly, replace DDM.
