Speaker Walk-Around Test

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Mercury Monterey and 2004 Ford Freestar. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: To enter the speaker walk-around test or the audio unit self-diagnostic mode, the audio unit must be ON and in tuner mode (AM/FM). The audio unit self-diagnostic mode can only be entered while in the speaker walk-around test.
  1. To enter the speaker walk-around test, simultaneously press the audio unit preset buttons 3 and 6.
  2. The speaker walk-around test stops at each speaker and applies a different tone to each speaker for about 1-2 seconds. Each speaker is tested and displayed on the audio unit in the following sequence: RF, LF, LR, RR, Subwoofer I, Subwoofer II.
  3. The speaker walk-around test automatically continues and tests for a speaker short. If a speaker short exists, SPKR SHORT will be displayed.
