Test E: The Message Center Display Is Blank

  1. Disconnect compass sensor module harness connector C905. Disconnect message center harness connector C928. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between ground and message center harness connector C928 terminal No. 12 (Red/White wire). See Figure. Measure voltage between ground and compass sensor module harness connector C905 terminal No. 2 (Gray/Yellow wire). See Figure. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair open in appropriate wire and test system operation. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Measure resistance between ground and message center harness connector C928 terminal No. 13 (Black/Light Blue wire). See Figure. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace message center and test system operation. See MESSAGE CENTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Light Blue wire and test system operation. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
