Test H: Memory Seat Does Not Operate From Remote Transmitter (Navigator Only)
- Ensure vehicle is in Park. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester, or equivalent scan tool, to Data Link Connector (DLC) located below center of instrument panel. Retrieve and note continuous DTCs. Clear continuous DTCs. Using NGS tester, perform Driver's Seat Module (DSM) self-test. If any DTCs are retrieved, perform appropriate test. See DSM DTC TEST INDEX table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If there are no DTCs retrieved, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect memory set switch 10-pin connector. Disconnect Remote Anti-Theft Personality (RAP) module 22-pin connector. RAP is located behind left side of instrument panel. Measure resistance of Brown/Light Green wire between memory set switch connector terminal No. 3 and RAP module connector terminal No. 6. Measure resistance of Black/Orange wire between memory set switch connector terminal No. 4 and RAP module connector terminal No. 18. See Figure . If each resistance is less than 5 ohms, problem is in keyless entry system. See appropriate wiring diagram in REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEMS article. If any resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in appropriate wire(s).
