Test B: No Communication With Remote Anti-Theft Personality (Rap) Module
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect RAP module harness connectors C253 and C254. See Figure
and Figure
. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at terminal No. 25 (Black/Pink wire) at RAP module harness connector C253. Measure voltage at terminal No. 12 (White/Yellow wire) at RAP module harness connector C254. If battery voltage exists at both terminals, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist at either terminal, go to step 3).
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 14 (Black/White wire) at RAP module harness connector C254. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace RAP module. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/White wire.
- Disconnect instrument panel fuse box harness connector C247. See Fig 3
. Measure resistance in Black/Pink wire between terminal No. 15 at instrument panel fuse box harness connector C247 and terminal No. 25 at RAP module harness connector C253. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Pink wire.
- Measure resistance in White/Yellow wire between terminal No. 24 at instrument panel fuse box harness connector C247 and terminal No. 12 at RAP module harness connector C254. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace instrument panel fuse box. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in White/Yellow wire.
