Test D: Speed Control Does Not Disengage When Clutch Is

APPLIED

  1. Check Brake Pedal Position (BPP) Switch Operation  - Verify speed control disengages when brakes are applied. If speed control disengages properly, go to next step. If speed control does not disengage properly, go to TEST C: SPEED CONTROL DOES NOT DISENGAGE WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED.
  2. Test Clutch Pedal Position (CPP) Switch  - Disconnect CPP switch connector C260 (located on top of clutch pedal support). Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between CPP switch terminals while pressing clutch pedal. Check resistance between CPP switch terminals with clutch pedal released. If resistance is less than 5 ohms with clutch pedal pressed and 5 ohms or more with clutch pedal released, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, replace CPP switch and retest system operation.
  3. Check Clutch Pedal Position (CPP) Switch Circuit  - Connect CPP switch. Disconnect speed control servo/actuator connector C136 (located near master cylinder). Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and speed control servo/actuator connector terminal No. 4. See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Red/Light Green wire to stoplights. Retest system operation.
  4. Check Clutch Pedal Position (CPP) Switch Operation  - Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and speed control servo/actuator connector C136 terminal No. 4 while depressing clutch pedal 1.00-1.50" (25-38 mm). If resistance is 10 k/ohms or more, replace speed control servo/actuator and retest system operation. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, repair short to ground in Light Green wire. Retest system operation.
