DTC B1629 - PRNDL Reverse Input Short To Battery
- Connect New Generation Star (NGS) Tester (007-00500) to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located at instrument panel, below steering column. Select RAP PID TRANSGR. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article. If PID TRANSGR reads REV, go to next step. If PID TRANSGR does not read REV, replace Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) module and retest system.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) module connector C253. Turn ignition on, engine off. Shift transaxle to reverse. Measure voltage at RAP module connector C253 terminal No. 12 (Black/Pink wire). See Figure . If 10 volts or greater exists, go to next step. If less than 10 volts exist, replace RAP module and retest system.
- Turn ignition off. shift transaxle to park. If backup lights are on all the time, repair short to battery voltage in circuit No. 14 (Black/Pink wire). If backup lights are not on all the time, recheck backup light operation. Repair system if necessary. See wiring diagram in EXTERIOR LIGHTS article.
