Pinpoint Test G - Improper Up/Down Lift Operation
- Operation Check
- Unplug power seat motor connector. Connect jumper wire to battery voltage. Connect a second jumper wire to ground. Connect positive jumper wire to pin No. 3 at motor connector. See Figure

table. Momentarily connect ground jumper wire to pin No. 4. Seat should move downward. Reverse jumper wires. Seat should move upward. If seat operates correctly, go to next step. If seat does not operate properly, replace motor assembly. Retest system.NOTE: If vehicle is equipped with separate front power seats, repeat operation check procedure on passenger's seat.
- Circuit Check - Reconnect power seat motor connector. Remove power seat switch from seat side trim panel. Unplug harness connector. Connect jumper wire to battery voltage. Connect a second jumper wire to ground. Connect positive jumper wire to Yellow/Light Blue wire at switch connector. See appropriate POWER SEAT SWITCH CONNECTOR PIN ID table. Momentarily connect ground jumper wire to Red/Light Blue wire at switch connector. Observe seat operation. Reverse jumper wires. If seat moves in opposite direction, replace power seat switch. Retest system. If power seat does not operate properly, repair suspect wire(s). Retest system.
