Air Control Valve Operation

  1. Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Start engine and run at idle. Using jumper wire, ground terminal 4N at ECM connector. See PIN VOLTAGE CHARTS article for terminal identification.
  2. If engine idles rough, air control valve and switching valve solenoid are okay. See Figure . If engine does not idle rough, check vacuum routing, switching valve solenoid, air pump and air control valve.
