Pinpoint Test J - Switch Circuit Self-Diagnostics

  1. Diagnostic test provides capability to identify a short-to-ground condition for door lock cylinder switch, hood switch and trunk lid lock cylinder switch circuits. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Activate power door locks 5 times in 10 seconds. Watch alarm indicator light and count flashes. Warning light will repeat every 10 seconds.
  2. If light flashes one time, all inputs are normal. If light flashes 2 times, door lock cylinder switch input is shorted. If light flashes 3 times, luggage compartment switch input is shorted. If light flashes 4 times, both door lock switches, hood switch and trunk lock switch inputs are shorted. Repair input circuits as necessary. Diagnostic mode will automatically cancel after 2 minutes or when ignition is turned from RUN to OFF position.
