Pinpoint Test P - Traction Control System (TCS) Indicator Light On, No Codes Retrieved

  1. Check TCS Disable Switch

    Turn ignition on. Cycle TCS disable switch. If TRACTION CONTROL indictor light is still on, go to next step. If TRACTION CONTROL indicator light is off, system is functioning properly at this time. Fault may be intermittent.

  2. Check For Short To Ground

    Turn ignition off. Disconnect ABS control module 22-pin connector and Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) 8-pin connector. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . Turn ignition on. If TRACTION CONTROL indicator light is off, turn ignition off and go to next step. If TRACTION CONTROL indicator light is on, repair short to ground in Black/Blue wire or Black/Green wire between ABS control module and instrument cluster.

  3. Check Relay

    Reconnect 8-pin connector. Turn ignition on. If TRACTION CONTROL indicator light is off, replace HCU. Reconnect all components and retest system. If TRACTION CONTROL indicator light is on, replace relay. Reconnect all components and retest system.
